Seuss Day

Seuss Day

Saturday, January 20th
11 am – 2 pm

Join the Dover Public Library as we begin our Winter Reading Challenge with a celebration of all things Seuss! Enjoy a variety of fun Seuss-themed crafts and activities along with a special “Oh the Creatures You’ll Meet!” program. The building will be decorated for the occasion, so explore the library to see if you can spot displays from your favorite Seuss books!

“Oh the Creatures You’ll Meet!”

Have you ever held a stick insect, been pricked by a porcupine quill, or stroked the fur of a coyote? Do you know the difference between an owl feather and a turkey feather? If you’d like to gain new experiences, meet a variety of cool creatures, and learn interesting facts about animals, stop by the Children’s Programming Room from 12-2 pm, where real-life scientists from the University of Delaware Wildlife Ecology program are standing by to share their knowledge and answer your questions! In addition to a display of books about animals, they’ll also have a featured station that explains what wildlife biologists do and introduce you do the creatures they meet.
