Literary Pet Costume Contest

Does your dog (or cat, lizard or whatever) love to run (or parade or slink or whatever) through the house in a cute costume?

Sadly, most do not, but thanks to the Friends of the Library there’s a way to show off our pets and our creativity anyway: a LITERARY PET COSTUME CONTEST!

To help the Dover Library celebrate its 10th Anniversary in the new building, the Friends of the Library are sponsoring a PET COSTUME CONTEST at the Dover Public Library Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, September 10th.

Just bring your pet, dressed as a fictional character (kid’s books are fine, too), and register between 10:00 and noon Saturday, 9/10 on the parking lot side of the library. At that time a photo will be taken of your pet and Judges will use the photos for determining the winners in three categories: #1Most Like the Fictional Character, #2 Best Overall Costume, and #3 Judges’ Choice (for the Funniest, Craziest, or whatever-est).

First prizes will be Amazon Kindles, which can be used to borrow free e-books from the library! Second and Third Prizes in each category are Gift Certificates to The House of Coffi and the Cobblestone Cafe! You need not be present to win. Winners will be contacted by text, call or email, as chosen when they register.
