The Dover Public Library is a Passport Acceptance Facility. The Passport Office can be reached at 302-674-7554.

Passport Office Hours

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Every Other Saturday: 10:30 am – 4 pm

Every Other Sunday: 1 pm – 4 pm

Walk-ins are available on a first-come, first serve-basis until slots are filled. (Please see below for instructions and required documents)

Schedule an Appointment

 

Children under 16, first time applicants or passports more than 5 years expired

  • Fill out and bring DS -11 (Typed or black in only) https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds11.pdf
  • Children and both parents/guardians listed on documents MUST be present at appointment
  • Bring original US citizenship evidence
    • U.S. birth certificate that meets the following requirements:
      • Issued by the city, county, or state of birth
      • Lists applicant’s full name, date of birth, and place of birth
      • Lists the parent(s)’ full names
      • Has the date filed with registrar’s office (must be within one year of birth)
      • Has the registrar’s signature
      • Has the seal of the issuing authority
    • Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth
    • Certificate of Citizenship
    • Previous passport (children still require birth certificate)
  • Bring photo ID for applicant and/or both parents/guardians
    • Valid or expired, undamaged U.S. passport book or passport card
    • In-state, fully valid driver’s license or enhanced driver’s license with photo
    • Certificate of Naturalization
    • Certificate of Citizenship
    • Government employee ID (city, county, state, or federal)
    • U.S. military or military dependent ID
    • Current (valid) foreign passport
  • Bring personal check or money order for exact amount
    • Child passport book fee – $100
    • Child passport card fee – $15
    • Adult passport book fee – $130
    • Adult passport card fee – $30
    • Expedite fee – $60
    • Overnight mailing fee – $19.53
  • Photos can be taken at location for $15 dollars paid by cash or card. There is also a processing fee of $35 dollars paid by cash or card.


Renewal of passports (adults renewing a 10 year passport)

Below criteria must be met for renewal:

  • I can submit it with my application.
  • It is not damaged (other than normal wear and tear).
  • I have never reported it lost or stolen.
  • It was issued within the last 15 years.
  • It was issued when I was age 16 or older.
  • It was issued in my current name, or I can provide another document such as a marriage certificate or divorce decree that is evidence of my name change.
  • It was not limited to less than the normal 10 year period of validity for an adult passport due to multiple passport thefts or losses, or due to issues with passport damage or mutilation.
  • Fill out and bring DS-82 (typed or black ink only) https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds82.pdf
  • Bring U.S passport (must not have been expired for more than 5 years)
  • Original name change document (if applicable)
  • Bring Personal check or money order for exact amount:
    • Adult passport book fee – $130
    • Adult passport card fee – $30
    • Expedite fee – $60
    • Overnight mailing fee – $19.53
  • Photos can be taken at location for $15 dollars paid by cash or card. There is also a mailing fee of $14 paid by cash or card.
