The library has volunteers to help us with a variety of tasks and programs. If you are interested in volunteering, fill out the application and drop it off or email it to michelle.hughes@lib.de.us. Applications will be kept on file for 3 months.
The Library strives to maintain an atmosphere that promotes the use and enjoyment of its resources and services; promotes the safety of the public and Library staff; and protects the building, furniture, equipment, and materials of the Library. All members of the public are welcome at the Dover Public Library. We expect Library staff to treat customers of the Library with courtesy. In turn, we expect Library customers to behave in the Library with dignity and in such a way that their actions do not interfere with the functions of the Library or with the convenience and comfort of other customers.
The Loft is the Library’s space designed for teen customers for reading, study, homework, school projects, use of computers for appropriate educational and recreational purposes, and other Library activities. While the Loft is not a quiet space we do expect it to be a respectful space.
The Library Network, supported by the Delaware Department of State, Division of Libraries, provides access to electronic information resources through the Internet to all Delaware public library card holders in good standing. Users of public library computers must enter their library barcode number and their Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access the Internet. Users of personal mobile devices in the library are also subject to this Computer Acceptable Use Policy.
